Hi guys,
This seems to be about the only part of the forum I can post in.
Was wondering if non 401 squads or individuals can join your Sunday missions. Might be a few ATAGers who would like to fly.
Thx,
Torian

Hi Torian,

Are you referring to our Saturday co-op campaign or to the bigger Storm of War campaign missions (those are on Sunday)?

Wolverine and I caught up on TS last nite. Thx for the ATAG user group Wolverine. I don't seem to have access to the London Calling forum to set up a character yet.

Don't worry about the London Calling campaign. If you come tonight, we'll sort you out. I've got you guys prepped for the next campaign in terms of forum rights.

Here's today's briefing:

TOP SECRET
"Gentlemen, this is  a TOP SECRET operations brief, therefore you must not discuss it with anyone outside of this briefing, and not amongst yourselves nor any member of your crew." "Questions before I begin?

"Yes, you, yes you there in the back, what's your name, Percy!? Ah yes, I was warned that you Canooks and Aussies were bereft of any semblance of military discipline and a wee bit ignorant on military courtesy. If you please gentlemen, let me remind you that when speaking to a senior officer of His Majesty's Royal Air Force, you will commence and conclude every sentence with "Sir". Is that clear? Now then, what is your question?"

"I beg your pardon! Sister? Why, yes indeed the King has a sister, but no, she would abolutely not fancy the likes of you nor any from this lot of scruffy wildman from the colonies! May we proceed?"

"Aheem!" As you all know by now, we have a significant advantage over the Germans since the Americans began to supply the RAF with 100 Octane aviation fuel. This fuel has boosted the performance of the Hurricane and Spitfire to somewhat offset the superior power to weight ratio enjoyed by our Luftwaffe adversaries. This fuel is only produced in one refinery at a secret location in the United States and shipped by convoy tankers to Liverpool where it is offloaded to be distributed by rail."

"RAF Intellegence sources have been tracking German efforts to cracking the process to produce 100 octane fuel and we believe that they have succeeded to do so at a research refinery located in Romania. Shipments have been streaming into the central distribution center located in the city of Arras France. This facility contains approximately 3.5 million litres of 100 octane aviation fuel and represents nearly 93 percent of all that has been produced to date. "

"With major operations completed as of the 15th of September, the Luftwaffe are estimated to have lost 48% of their available combat aircraft and several hundred crew making it less likely that the Germans will be able to launch their fall invasion unless they can regain air superiority within the next week. The introduction of 100 octane fuel by the Germans is a significant threat to tipping the balance of power in favour of the Luftwaffe and this stockpile must be destroyed at all costs before major distribution begins. Wellingtons of Bomber Command will attempt a long-range attack this evening against the refinery in Romania. You gentlemen, will lead the attack to destroy the fuel depot at Arras. You must succeed at all costs. RAF Command consider this operation so important that they are willing to risk an entire squadron to ensure success."

MISSION. No.1 (RCAF) Hurricanes and No.105 Squadron Blenhiems scramble at 1640 hrs from RAF Northolt to Arras France, locate and destroy the fuel depot in order to prevent the distribution of 100 octane fuel to the aerodromes throughtout France and Belgium.

Concept of Operations. No.1 (RCAF) will escort Blenhiem bombers from Northolt vector 155 degrees Angels 2 to the radio tower at Beachy Head, then vector 109 degrees Angels 1.5 to the small bay South of BERCK. Proceed inland between the river that leads to FREVENT and the system of canals toward AUXI-LE-CHATEAU ensuring that you remain at least 4 km from all of the Luftwaffe airbases in the area.  South of FREVENT, vector 85 degrees to Arras where you will protect the Blenheims as they attack the fuel depot.

TASKS
No.1 (RCAF)
Cover No.105 Squadron throughout and ensure all aircraft arrive on target, provide cover on the return trip
Destroy flak batteries around the fuel depot
Attack and suppress any aircraft that attempt to scramble from the ARRAS aerodrome.
Destroy any fuel trucks spotted in the area or departing along the road system out of ARRAS

No.105 Squadron
Destroy the main storage tanks in the North quadrant of the distribution facility
Destroy the secondary tanks in the South quadrant of the distribution facility
Destroy targets of opportunity with priority on pumping stations and fuel convoys out of ARRAS

OBJECTIVE 1: SUCCESSFULLY DESTROY MAIN FUEL DEPOT

OBJECTIVE 2: RETURN AT LEAST 8 PILOTS TO ENGLAND

OBJECTIVE 3: RETURN AT LEAST 4 PILOTS TO NORTHOLT
