S! indeed. A definitively fun fight both at the pilot and tactical levels. Also interesting to see how altitude changes the lethality. Torian killed Wolverine, but Wolverine vented him and he had to land (it helps being on your side of the channel), and I think Wiley killed an AI 109, but other than that the high fight wasn't very lethal.
Might be one of the reason's people preferred fighting at altitude psychologically. You were more likely to come home, not just from the advantage altitude gave you, but because in a guns environment the number of passes and chances to be shot were much fewer.

Yeah, that was great stuff. Not great in terms of campaign progression for the RAF, but definitely an enjoyable evening (bullets to the back of the head notwithstanding).
I really enjoy seeing a battle like that come together with people helping each other in the air and the all the shifting cat and mouse engagements. We'll only get better at that kind of stuff the more we do it so I'm hoping we get another go at the Luftwaffe up high again. The variety of fights we've had so far has been impressive as well.
I'll say this, though: I can't wait until we have a foothold in France. This across the channel business is killing us....

Yeah the variety has been excellent. Ive flown maybe 400 hrs on ATAG and seen maybe 5 mins of contrail fighting whereas yesterday we had extended high alt fun. Not that I spent much time up in the rarefied air though.
Re foothold - Dieppe has nice beaches apparently...... ( obviously I'm not making fun of the significant Canadian losses there in 42)
Re cat and mouse -that's half the fun on our side trying to figure out what u are up to.
