NEW MISSION COMING! Rhubarb Battles v1.0
NEWS BULLETIN!
After some long nights of testing and scripting, I've finished piecing together the major systems involved in a new mission type to be added to the No.401 Squadron Server!
Much of the development of the systems here came out of the Project Rhubarb testing (remember that?) and I've developed it for a PvP environment on a small map.
The number of players recommended for this version of the mission is 6-12 vs 6-12, making it a perfect 'ice breaker' mission for building a community presence with the server.
Details of the mission below!
Rhubarb Battles v1.0
Synopsis: Two teams (RAF and Luftwaffe) compete against each other to complete a series of objectives in sequence in order to win the battle without losing more than 30 pilots in total. Should either team lose more than 30 pilots, they lose the war.
Objectives: Objectives will be randomized and appear one after the other as each is completed. Objectives may include recon patrols of certain areas, strafing ground targets, bombing hard targets, escorting ground or air units, and more.
Many objectives will require reconnaissance to find. A fuel convoy may become the objective, but locating it on the map will require searching for it.
RAF Aircraft:
Blenheim IV
Blenheim IVF
Hurricane Mk.I (DH5-20 100oct)
Hurricane Mk.I (ROTOL 100oct)
Spitfire Mk.I (100oct)
Spitfire Mk.Ia (100oct)
Spitfire Mk.IIa
Luftwaffe Aircraft:
He111 H-2
He111 P-2
JU88-A
JU87
Me110 C-2
Me110 C-4
Bf109 E-1
Bf109 E-3
Bf109 E-4
Pilot Tracking: The mission will track pilots lost for both sides via the 'Frontlines' script by Vogler with edits by Wolverine. In order to save your pilot from being a casualty, you must bring your PILOT back to friendly territory. Bailing out over friendly territory will not result in a pilot loss (unless your parachute fails to open). There is a chance you may escape from enemy lines if you crash land or bail out there.
Radar: Due to the small size of the map, RDF will not be implemented on it. If the mission type is expanded to use the full BoB England/France map, then RDF will be re-introduced.
Keep an eye on the Public Server for this mission coming soon!
