Re: Flying tonight?
If I get home at a reasonable time, I'll go up. I'm still pulling twelve hour work days 7 days a week right now.
I haven't flown since December :(

Not to worry. Hooves and I had a good talk, and then signed off.

Re: Flying tonight?
I just got home.
Yeah, I'm really sorry guys. I want to be around more. I'm just working so much. I honestly get home at around 10:00pm or 11pm every night now. At least until the rollover glitches are all worked out. I do about 7 jobs now and there's not enough time for any of them.
I'm kind of waiting for 4.01 patch to come out anyway before resuming our campaign since we rely on the AI combat a little more than most. So hopefully when I'm back, that'll be out.
I will also be taking some time off when things are settled. So expect me to be a whirlwind of production when I get that time off. I'm hoping to create some multiplayer missions that we can set up and leave running and get people joining the dedicated server at all hours. It'd be great to build some presence out there that way. It's the best way to build ranks too, as ATAG's swollen numbers atests.
Keep the faith, fellas. I'll be back soon....

Congrats Gunner. Way to go.
Badfinger and I had an uneventful French coast patrol. The most exciting thing to happen was when he had to abort his landing because 2 Spits were taking off.

Should I have shot them down? Would that be wrong?

Seriously, though. I don't think I have ever heard anyone call "entering the pattern", "downwind for xxx", etc. I apologe if I am wrong, but if I'm right, we should be doing that. I know I didn't do it, last night.

Re: Flying tonight?
We do a rather informal version of it on Saturdays I think. "Red Two on final" sort of thing. But on ATAG, it's everyone for themselves mostly because the pilots are all dispersed on different teamspeak servers.
We could look into adding more of this sort of thing to our SOPs.

Landing SOP
Normally when returning from a mission as an intact squadron or section, flight lead calls altitude and circuit pattern as they approach the aerodrome, e,g, Red Section, left hand circuit, Angels 1.5. Once we confirm runway status, Lead will call order the rear plane e.g, Red Four, enter the curcuit. Red four acks and drops to land on the runway designated. On approach we normally call out, Red Four on final, wheels down and locked, flaps, wheels down, and exit left/right. That process is repeated until lead is down. And then again, sometimes we get lazy and just land, crash and bump about!!!
