DCS P-51 You should pick it up!
Hey guys I know we are a Canadian squadron, and our game is CLoD. But I HIGHLY recommend picking up a copy of DCS P-51, Aborted and I have been sharing time between CLoD and 51 and I must say its making us both MUCH better pilots in CLoD, due to 51's exacting demands on airmanship. The Fidelity of DCS' games are AMAZING! and P-51 is no let down. However, I must give it a demerrit mark for lack of content. It is afterall one plane, in a modern setting, with no advesary, but dogfighting other reskinned 51's has been surprisingly hair raising and intense!!
The community is small, (smaller than CLoD even) But tis growing all the time, and the best part is EVERYTHING WORKS!! The Editor, the FM's, the DM's. And its all getting better and better. I hope that the lot of you take the plunge and pick thi sup as it is a blast and it really fills the times gaps when CLoD, is running on a flat.
See ya in the skies!!!

Worth considering. Thanks Hooves. I took my first step into DCS yesterday and picked up Blackshark from the Steam sale.

Yeah KA-50, is pretty tough. Lotsa buttons there. P-51 is about as complicated as CLOD, well, slightly more complicated but not over the top. Its alot of fun. Im trying to make missions for it, The editor is much easier to set up easy missions and as any thing more complicated its gonna take some doing to get some more detail in them.

Ran into a bit of trouble with this. For some reason my PC won't run DCS World. I've tried everything I know, and followed suggestions from the DCS forums, but got nowhere. Too bad.

I picked it up and went for a test flight. I ALMOST managed to get the engine running without going through the tutorial, but I missed the mixture switch from idle cut-off.
Flew in a circuit around the training airfield and then landed. Those trees in front spooked me a little but I managed to put the aircraft down without losing too many pieces. Lost flaps on the right side and the right side gear collapsed a little, but upon final roll I was still on three wheels.
Why they'd have those trees there is anyone's guess.

So what did you think? Should I install DCS world again?

Did everyone get their P-51?I have yet to get the e-mail.Hope it has nothing to do with the fact that for some reason I am listed as selecting the 1$ tier thingy even though everything else shows that I pledged 100$.

Check your statement to make sure you were charged $100 or $1. If you were indeed charged $100, then make sure to get in touch with them. I imagine they don't have many people working on the sending out of this stuff (it sounds like it's just Ilya) so you might have to wait a little for them to sort it out.alpine wrote:Did everyone get their P-51?I have yet to get the e-mail.Hope it has nothing to do with the fact that for some reason I am listed as selecting the 1$ tier thingy even though everything else shows that I pledged 100$.
