Salute 401!
Flying in the land down under has been wet and windy so not much different from patrols over the channel. Had a rough ride in to Vancouver and had to thread the needle through a pair of storms near hurricane strength. All ended well, though and we landed safely if a bit sideways.
Long flight to Sydney was uneventful but cramped. Fortunately I was placed next to a lovely RCAF WAAF and got much better acquainted on the trip.
Did a bit of harness training up on the Harbour Bridge and an Aussie aircraft buzzed us when we were at the apex, dipping his wings twice before blazing past not 30 meters above.
Flew into Melbourne without incident and reviewed some combat footage at the ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image). Strangely, mostly Yank footage there.
Now awaiting flight clearance on the way to Adelaide. Fog cover is holding us up.
More later.
