Bomber Escort/On Leave

Bomber Escort/On Leave
Just tried my first escort mission in DCS and I must say it was genuinely impressive. The sight of the bombers (only four this first time out) and the contrails they produced was very realistic against the backdrop of Normandy 35,000 feet below and clear blue skies above. DCS have really nailed the particle affects.
If you have not yet built an escort mission, do yourselves a favour and run one this week. I took off from Beny sur Mer, climbed to mid channel at 30,000', picked up the bombers inbound from England and did a slow bank to line up nicely above the formation. Flew them all the way to Falaise and back to the coast to drop down onto Beny sur Mer (ran out of gas on the taxiway so I stretched it a bit too far). Spit performed well at altitude, but my two FW 190 attackers failed to make a show so can't comment on high altitude dogfights (I'd loose anyway!!)
As for the next two weeks, I'll be watching a CFL game this coming Saturday (season has started so I'll fly whenever there is no game on Saturday night) and next week (Jul 8/9) I'm off to the IMSA races at CTMP. Go Team RLL BMW!!!
And welcome back to Kooka!! We missed you mate.

Re: Bomber Escort/On Leave
I, too, will be absent from the flight line....both this, and next week due to company from across the pond. Best of luck to all in the skies!
Dean, make sure you're wearing the green and white tonight for that CFL match up.......not the blue and gold. Go Riders! Hawk

I have company visiting this weekend so I may not be on tonight depending on what they have planned.

Hey Hawk,
Just got my first look at the new stadium. Wow! You guys sure know how to set the bar high for everyone else.
Should be a great game, always is between the Riders and Bombers.
