Dedicated Server Running New Mission!

Our Dedicated Server is now running for the public use!
All feedback is welcome and wanted!

The mission running currently is:

Defense of the Realm v1.0

Mission Description: At the start of the mission and every 45 minutes thereafter a wave of AI bombers are sent towards one of three targets in England. If the AI bomber wave is successful in destroying its target, the BLUE team wins the map and it restarts. If the RED team is able to successfully prevent the AI bombers from hitting their targets for the course of 2.5 hours, the RED team wins the map and it restarts.

The AI bomber waves are 16 to 18 bombers each in close formation with deadly gunners. It will be difficult to take them out, but you only need to make sure they don't hit their targets. Quick slashing attacks that do some damage to engines or control surfaces will help throw them off course. Killing element leaders can help to break the moral of the elements as well and disperse them.

BLUE pilots will receive notification when a bomber group spawns (where they are, where they are headed) and another notification 15 minutes into the mission about their next course. BLUE also has full details of each AI mission in the briefing (including all course settings, altitudes, and flight timing).

The AI flights are selected randomly from nine different flights. This means that during one run of the map, a single target might be attacked three times in a row. Alternatively, the AI flights may send a single flight against each RED target.

RED pilots have use of the RDF system to locate and intercept enemy bomber formations. Only groups larger than 3 aircraft together will be identified to the system.

The targets are:
Sheerness Industrial Docklands (AT 26)
Biggin Hill RAF Sector Station (AO 25)
Burgess Hill Parts Factory (AN 21)

There are no BLUE player flown bombers available on the map.

Available BLUE aircraft: 109 E1, E3, E4 / 110 C4
Available RED aircraft: Hurricane I(ROTOL 100oct) / Spitfire Ia (100oct)

How is this getting out to other people?

Right now, since the mission has just been uploaded, I've mentioned it to a few squadrons to try and get some testing done. 450 knows about it, so does 9./JG52, and ACG.

This week we should all start getting the word out any way we can.

Just checked on the server and it's still up and running! Mission log just reported that the Luftwaffe destroyed Sheerness, so that's also working

I'll be around tonight if anyone wants to fly the new mission.

We had 45 players on it today.

We had some good testing today. Hopefully we'll get some feedback.

Anyone interested in a Thurs mission to try out the new server.

How about a 2000 hrs (Toronto time) takeoff. That should allow for time differences between StiC and Hawk and give us a good hour before Alpine has to log off. I think Badfinger should be in the same time zone in Texas as well give or take and hour.

Suggest that since the missions revolve mostly on bomber intercepts, we fly our old trusty 100 Oct Hurricanes. Been a while so should be fun. I'll be in the server between 1900-2000 hrs to check it out.

Gunner mentioned that the flight on Saturday night in the ATAG server impressed the other guys with our Sqn takeoff rolling out in threes, but let's practice a full squadron takeoff like we always did before, nothing like 12 Hurricanes roaring down the runway as one!!!

Gunner and I will be on so that makes six. Target was on last night in ATAG so he must have his rig working. Hopefully he and Squiz and Taz and the rest of the 450 gang can join us.

I can't make it tonight. A winter storm bumped last nights plans to tonight.
