Checking In
Sorry I'm missing all the action gents. Still on listening watch for a fix to the MOD 3.00 crash and lockup issues but don't see any light on the horizon. Missions sound great and hopefully I'll be back in the mix soon.

Re: Checking In
Are you running the sweetfx thing, DNR? That caused me to crash all the time and I basically had to do the same thing you did (system restore to a point before some Windows patches).
Apparently, if you don't run the sweetfx, TF 3.0 runs fine. Might be something to consider, but I'm not sure if you have sweetfx installed. You'd have to remove it entirely (not just turn it off via scroll lock).

MOD 3.00
No SweetFX that I've ever installed. Unless it is embedded within MOD 3.00 then I don't have it.
My problem is that I don't know what effect I'll have by un-installing that Windows update that seems to be the problem, although I've read numerous posts from guys saying that the removal of the Windows update did nothing to fix their freezing and crashing problems. Having lost my profile last time, I definately will not "roll back" to a previous version of Windows but will simply un-install that particular update. If I get some time this weekend and the patience necessary to deal with any problems that arise, I'll give it a shot.

If you're not running sweetFX (or any other DX wrapper designed to add antialiasing or other features outside of Cliffs options) then you shouldn't have to remove any windows patches.
Back On Duty
Ran a flawless test of a single mission for over 90 minutes with no problem and an online mission for about 60 minutes when I saw you gents forming up in your nice new Spitfires. Seems that 109 took aim at the lowly Hurricane and nicked my rad. Anyway, I'm back to active duty status.

Re: Checking In
Yeah, we saw it happen. I called break break break for Alpine and he dodged it, but you kept on and he hit you.
BREAK!
Alpine's Spit cut left so fast that I snapped into a bank and could hardly stay with him and that's when I took the hit. Lucky for me, could have been worse.
Looking forward to flying the missions again. Is there a scenario/date you would like me to work on? If we each do one every other week then we can have two weeks to put these together.
As for the crashing problem, this may have been related to how I completed the install the first time. I updated the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile versus updating the DotNetFx40_Client application. This may have caused my original freeze and crash problem (aka by being out of date), and when I rolled that client profile back, I lost it. So I'm likely a victim of my own lack of knowledge of these system files and when blindly following direction on the forum, I sometimes get it wrong. Seems good to go for now so I'll leave well enough alone and just get on with flying again.

Good seeing you back to populating the flight logs DNR. It really wasn't the same without you.

Re: Checking In
Actually, that would work out perfectly, DNR, since I've been told in no uncertain terms that I will not be hosting missions on Saturday nights in the summer by she who must be obeyed*
If we run two a night on Saturdays until summer starts, we'll get through the end of the campaign before July (afterwhich I have something exciting planned - currently codenamed Project "Rhubarb").
How about we alternate missions then as you say.
I'll take:
Aug 26
Aug 28
Aug 30
You take:
Aug 27
Aug 29
Aug 31
That'll bring us to the end of Hurricane Summer.
*I can still play on those nights if available, but I won't be able to reserve that time for hosting in case something else comes up last minute as it usually does.

Sounds good.
During my "staff duties appointment" I learned the art of triggers, so the campaign scenarios will have a few new twists and be far less demanding on PC memory.
