My procedure for uploading videos to Youtube
The first thing I do is run the video through moviemaker to compress it and do some editing.
-Add the movie(s) to your project and edit them. (or not)
-Select the little arrow under "Save Movie" near the top right.
-If there isn't already a suitable option available create a custom one. I use 1280x720. 8000 kbps. 30 fps and 128 kbps audio. Name it and save.
-Select the little arrow again and choose the custom setting you just made.
-I like to save my videos as wmv for compatibility reasons.
-When it's done the file size should be more manageable for uploading, editing, ect.
Get a Youtube account. I'm pretty sure if you have a google account you can use it to sign into Youtube.
Go to Youtube.com and to the right of the search bar is an upload hotspot.
From there select your movie and upload.
If your video is longer than 15 mins you need to verify your account by going to www.youtube.com/my_videos_upload
and look for this near the bottom of the page.
Have a phone nearby and fill out the information.
Now lets see some video.

Re: My procedure for uploading videos to Youtube
I'm going to be attempting a 'promo' film for No.401 Sqdn. My question to you guys is what stuff should go into such a video? What's the best stuff that we do, the most fun stuff, the stuff you think will draw people to join us instead of some where else?
Formation flying?
Campaign?
Skins?
Let's get some suggestions for the video and I'll start filming.

Can't wait to see it.
How about:
Co-op missions
PvP Online
Training
Stats Tracking
and Combat. Especially something like shooting a 109 off of my 6. Tense and exciting.
PS
I really want to see your Mar 9 video.

Re: My procedure for uploading videos to Youtube
I tried to upload it, Stic, but it got about 2% completed in 8 hours. I also wasn't able to find the 720p web video option.
If I'm using windows movie maker, do I need a Windows Live account to do this stuff? I clicked on the 'youtube' option and it asked me to log into a Windows Live account.

I added a few steps to the OP. Sorry for being vague.
You don't need to sign into Windows Live unless you want to post to a service right from movie maker.
If your upload speed is an issue try converting it to 480p at 25 fps.
Good Luck
