Hi from Montreal !
My dad Group Captain Joseph W. Reid (windy) was C.O. of this squadron during the Cold War flying Vampires out of St. Hubert. As a kid I knew a lot of these guys and even got to fly co-pilot with a few of them later in their careers.
Nice to see that you are honoring the squadron in this way. Cheers! John.

Hi John!
First, let me thank you for posting that wonderful photo. I think I can speak for all the members of our Virtual No.401 Squadron in giving our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to your father and for his service to Canada and all free peoples.
I'm glad that you appreciate our efforts here. I've seen a lot of 'online' squadrons for simulations take the names of real wartime squadrons but never really make much of an effort to commemorate or even be respectful of the men and the squadron.
All of our active members have the greatest respect and admiration for members of our armed forces. The real No.401 Squadron is an amazing group of individuals and their story right from the beginning is an important one. One of my great hopes is that anyone who joins us here to fly in the IL-2: Cliffs of Dover simulation will learn something about the real squadron and be inspired to seek out more information and find more stories.
Thank you again for dropping in!
