Major Fire Aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard in San Deigo

In the short time I've been watching the live feed of this fire, it seems to have spread from the lower decks forward of the tower and now includes a large plumb of black smoke coming from the aft region below decks of the main recovery runway. This vessel is an amphibious assault ship.

Its unfortunate but true that one of the most dangerous times for a ship is when in a maintenance period or a refit.
