Target Maps for 11/12 July

New Target maps have been posted to "Squadron Barracks - New Carrier Missions" for next weekend's get together.

The map is now running on Server 1 if you want some practice during the week.  Please note that the non-strike aircraft do not have way-points so you will have to use your maps to navigate to Kerman Airport in the air defence role.

You may also need to brush up on your in-flight refuelling.

Alpine, Dice and I made it all the way to the airfield without triggering the defensive fighters.

Funny you should say that about in-flight refueling. I don't recommend giving the tanker a slight tap with the nose of a F14 - suddenly the poor RIO (me) had no instruments or radars or Tacan.

Sure, but with nothing to do it was probably a nice relaxing flight home, yes?

Sorry Gents, just checked the triggers to scramble enemy fighters. They were wrong. I have fixed the problem and will update the server soon.

Seems the F14 should bring some AIM-54s to this knife fight

Completed 3 out of 4 refuels tonight. Don't ask about #4....

I forgot how much concentration and yet complete feel it takes. It's so weird.

Keep up the good work. As I said during our last sortie, I find the F14 the hardest plane to A2A refuel in DCS since the "male" member sticks out so far to the right of the plane. I am no where near a success rate of 3 out of 4 with the F14 and suspect I never will be. Happy to ride shotgun and punch out those Phoenixes though. Next time we are up I will also put a NAVGID anchored on BULLSEYE into the system and we can then report contacts relative to their position from BULLSEYE.

Sounds good. I'll keep practicing this week. Won't make next, but if we haven't moved back in time to WWII the week after, I'll leave the backseat of the cat open for you.

No worries StiC, the third pair just do a circuit and land. Unless, of course, they detect you close to the airfield.
