DNR Checking In Empty DNR Checking In

Hi gents,

Just checking in to say hello to everyone, wish you a good summer and appologize for not being on line of late. Still have that seasonal internet connection problem that always crops up in the summertime and after the past two years of frustration trying to get and stay connected during our online sessions, I just decided to sit it out until the fall when things will improve. Even as I write this the internet signal is dropping off and on. No sense holding up perfectly good missions on my account. Couple of weeks ago when I was on Saturday night I had Wiley behind me as we taxied for takeoff and I dropped off and couldn't get back on. Not only was I frustrated, but I imagine everyone else were remembering all the other times that this had happened. Not wanting to impead any further missions, I just decided then and there that enough was enough.

This problem should clear up in the fall so I look forward to getting back on the flight line then.

Anyway, news on my front:

Six months and counting until retirement - then I'll be flying lots,
Heading to the arctic in three weeks to spend 10 days at Resolute Bay - my last all expenses paid trip in the Army, and
Bought a BMW 328i Coupe - what a beauty! take delivery of it Wednesday 6 August - now I won't need a Spitfire to fly!!!

Say hi to the boys from 450 for me.

Cheers

DNR,

That is a mean looking car. But, you could have had a Triumph Spitfire. Then, we could have gone "flying" together. I have a 1972 Triumph TR6.

My Dad had a TR6 way back when. Any pictures, Badfinger?

I worked with an Aussie Major when I was in the UK and he was restoring one from the ground up. I think it ended up costing him as much as his house, but he absolutely was in love with this thing.

I couldn't get the pics into an email. Look in my personal gallery. This TR6 was fully restored in 1999, and only has about 14,000 miles since then.

Good hearing from you DNR. I'm jealous of your new ride. Retirement looks good on you. You'll be turning heads at the drive through as you order your daily bagel.

I used to have problems with my internet and cable TV in the Summer, the heat changes the impedance of the lines and I would over drive the signal in the summer and it would be fine in the winter, they used to come out and change an inline attenuator and it would fix my problem, but then they would have to come back in the winter and undo what the did in the summer. I have moved since then and my Cable hub is always in the shade and I have had no problems. When it was hot the TV would get digital pixilation. It's hot and dry here, I imagine it's not as hot in Canada. But it could be a related type symptom. Not sure what kind of system you are on. Having the wrong kind of cable wire for your internet can be a problem too.

I owned a Triumph Spitfire many moons ago. Real fun little car, would have been better if it had a Merlin though
