And now we think you’ve been waiting long enough!

The second part of our tonight’s update is the fresh beta patch.

We didn’t complete the readme in time. Please
refer to previous updates to some info on what’s been done. We’ll
provide a better readme next week.

Quick points:
Beta versions are incompatible online
FM work is far from over, we still have a long laundry sheet to go through.

And I have the afternoon off!

Let's not get too excited until we try it out though. We've been through this in the past.

Hopefully the snakes are gone from the cockpit. Those things gave me the willies.

Beta Patch June 29 Empty What I've noticed so far...

  • 100 octane planes!


  • Improved particles including tracers, smoke trails ect.


  • Clouds no longer pop in.


  • Not that anyone uses it, but the mirror looks better.


  • It seemed to me that the Hurricane felt more nimble.


  • I don't know if it was the .303 rounds or the 88s I was chasing, but they went down with just a few very short bursts. I'll try with 111s later.


  • No framerate increase for me, I'll try turning features on to see how this affect framerate.


  • I closed the rad to see if there was any change in drag, and I cooked my engine, but the temp. needle didn't seem to move.

Congrats on getting your plane started.
About 20 times I tried, but couldn't get the engine to turn over.

I'll be back when they fix that "glitch".

All I've used is the Hurricane 100 octane, and I haven't run into that. I did notice once that the ignition didn't turn on the magnetos. I usually flip them manually anyway so I wonder if that's your problem.

No, I always start up manually. I've got practically the entire cockpit assigned to switches, buttons or levers on my desk.
Wolverine was having the same problem. I guess this makes me wonder, did you change anything in the settings? Because I didn't and to my knowledge, neither did he.

No I didn't change anything. I just loaded my Hurri profile. I've only tried the cross country quick mission and the engine is already running. I shut it down, reset the switches and start from scratch. The engine is already warm though, so I wonder...

Try the regular Hurricane (Rotol) and let us know if you get it started. In mulitplayer.

Nope, couldn't get it going. Someone got it going but I couldn't tell who. I don't have time to look at it more right now, but it will be a priority until Sunday.

Beta Patch June 29 Empty Patch Pain

I've learned to accept frustration and dissapointment with CoD, and now having been trying since about 4:00 this afternoon to download this patch, still no luck. It usually quits at about 48Mb and tells me the download is complete.

Luckily the CFL starts tonight. At least the games don't freeze or crash.

I'll join you guys when I can.

I'll likely have to give up my campaign spot. I'm at wits end with this thing and plain tired of screwing around with this all the time.

All of us will have to give up our spot. The patch will not allow Hurris to start up online. I've tried with both the ATAG and ACG servers. I'm pretty sure the campaign will continue sans patch. If you really want the patch Google utorrent, install it and find the torrent link in the Beta patch thread on 1C forums.

Beta Patch June 29 Empty New Download site

Black Six added a new download site at Easternskies.eu which worked first time this morning. I'll update my files later today once I'm done my yardwork.

Some say you have to apply +30% throttle to get the Hurri started. Anyone check if other flight controls have been activated, say the primer? We asked for it, don't know yet if they delivered.

I should be up and running later today and will see what's new before joining on-line.
