DCS World Release

Time to update again gents,

You might have completed this already, so for the record here is the newest update to the stable release version of DCS World.

To avoid confusion please understand that the release numbers for open beta and release are now the same. I'd recommend this sequence if you have not updated it yet.

Open DCS World Open Beta and allow the new updater to download. Update DCS Open Beta (it should tell you that you have the most up to date copy). Close it.

Now open your old DCS World 2.5.2 Release and allow the new updater to download. It will ask if you want to update to DCS World Release. Click yes.

The updater will then begin to copy files from your DCS World Open Beta folder (version and paste these into your DCS World folder (40,695 MBs) to update your release version to This will apply all recent fixes and updates rolled out under the open beta into your release version.

I've completed the update and tested connection to the Korea server. All works fine.

DCS F/A-18C Hornet and The Persian Gulf map is available.
Added CVN-74 J.C.Stennis aircraft carrier.
L-39 Kursant Campaign and F-15C Aggressors BFM Campaign is available

The first version of the video memory manager is presented, which will purge the video memory when the video memory budget allocated by Windows is reached. The resources that were not used in the last 10 seconds are first to be purged.

New OFFLINE mode is now implemented. User can turn on OFFLINE mode that allows the game to be used without internet identification and without a time limit. Note: user must turn off OFFLINE mode on the same PC. OFFLINE mode cannot be turned off from another PC even with the same user's login.

DCS World
Kh-25 and Kh-29 will follow the laser beam target point of the Su-25/25T optical station when player to shift the target point after launch.
Aircraft AI will be changing altitude between waypoints less aggressively.
Removing scenery objects via trigger will not be stay in the invisible mode, they will be removed completely.
MP. Added additional list of checkboxes for advanced IC server options: require pure textures, require pure models and require pure clients.
If an airbase has multiple runways in parallel the ATC will indicate which runway the player should take.
GUI. Input window. Device names in Input table can be customized.
Added China Asset Pack.
AI helo crew will not sink into FARP surface.
StaticObject.destroy() on cargo object will removes the cargo instead of killing it.
MP. Client will not gets wrong briefing from last played single player mission instead of the right briefing from current MP mission.
Fixed crash with Transport.dll
F10 map. labels in high resolution (1440p, 2160p etc) with turned on Scale GUI option will be in correct position on the map.
Fixed crash when briefing is set by trigger.
LAU-61 and LAU-3 rocket launcher will not looks empty when rockets in the tubes.
Multi Display. Fixed some freezes in 140 degrees FOV.
Deferred Shading render locked in the game and can not be turned off. DCS ceased support of old graphic render without Deferred Shading.
The SF key linked to user's account can't be activated with another account.
A-10A, A-10C. Corrupted TV display fixed.
Fixed CTD when Helicopter AI group landing on the ground..
The sun will not shine through the rearview mirrors.
ME maps. Fixed the captions that could be corrupted by zoom and moving.
MP. Changed the order of server IC options on client.
The player will not have the opportunity to see the usermarks of the opposite coalition.
Added option to use built-in to VR device mic and speakers or not.
The aircraft will not ignores the task via triggered action for changing waypoint.
Restored moonlight in the night.
ME. MLRS FDDM vehicle has been moved to Artillery category.

In order to prevent conflicts between the main joystick and a possible second joystick when targeting with the camera, a new option has been added in Options/Special/SA342 named "SECOND JOYSTICK FOR CAMERA", it has to be unchecked if you don't use a second joystick for the Camera (Viviane or else) and it has to be checked if you use a second joystick.
Due to latency issues, ability for the copilot to pilot the helicopter in multicrew mode has been removed.

After updating both Open Beta and Release versions I suggest you run Repair DCS World and Repair DCS World OpenBeta programs which you will find under Eagle Dynamic folder in your desktop left popup menu. Just makes sure that any unwanted fragments are removed.

DCS Release

I'll do that today. I also noticed while flying a recon last night that my aliasing was off. The edges of my cockpit and instruments were very jagged and poorly defined so I've reset the MSAA x 2 and left SSAA at none (I read an article saying that SSAA uses a lot more memory than MSAA). Also noticed a lot of bad stuttering while in flight. No other players were in the server at that time and SeaQuark has eliminated all the big spawn events for the "bomber" flights so I have no idea as to what might be causing that. Maybe the repair function will correct what ever is causing this stutter.

Good news is that with the Release version I now have the Tacview controls back and can disable the auto-record function to improve my frame rates.

Let's hope that this version runs stable for the remainder of the season.

DCS was made available for download on the 11th of July. If you want to keep your Release version up to date, then open it and allow the update to download.

New build of Normandy 1944 map with all additions and corrections.
Added Spitfire IX clipped wings version.
Added bombs and external fuel tanks for Spitfire.

DCS World
ME. Payload panel. The payload can be renamed in all cases.
ME. Carrier COMM FREQ can be assigned for each ship.
ME. New a unit's 2D view on the map. Units to always appear above / on top of static objects.
ME. New a unit's 2D view on the map. New button (tank in plan view) was added to lower bar in ME for show the unit models.
ME. Ships. TACAN can be assigned to exact ship, not whole group.

DCS Release

If you want to keep up with updates over on the Release side of DCS, this one was released recently.

DCS Update 7

Updater ver. ‘settings’ option is available in command line

DCS World
All terrains are updated.
Planes AI B-17G - collision during landing fixed.
RBK-500AO picture for all locales is added
Clouds generator changed to match Mission Editor settings more correctly
Radiomenu crash after triggered removing descent fixed
GUI error when loading template with linked unit fixed
Fixed crash when the ship with the task Attack group destroys the target
Error in radiomessages for USSR country fixed
Target attributes added to ‘Search and engage’ and ‘Search and engage in zone’ tasks

Persian Gulf

DCS Release

DCS have updated the Release version to bring it in line with recent changes to open beta. Both versions are now

The Korea! 1952 server has been updated to 20143 and you can fly either Release or openbeta on Saturday/Sunday. I just tested both versions and loaded into the server without any issues.

If you have Tacview you might consider running the Release version since you can turn Tacview off while flying to improve performance by about 10 fps.

DCS Update
Introduced DCS: Yak-52

DCS World
Corrected an airdrome surface marking in the ME satellite view.
The helicopters will landing on the CVN-70 deck.
The helicopter doesn't perform the task Ground Escort in some cases - fixed.
MP. Net phantom long teleportation for new client - partially fixed (WIP).
Eliminated the strange maneuvers of AI aircraft after attack a target in group.
SAM and AA missiles. The system of variable coefficients of proportional navigation is implemented. Only for MIM-104 Patriot so far. WIP.
4th client will not explodes when appears on carrier deck.
ME. Added option to select which CAT a client or player spawns on.

DCS F/A-18C Hornet
When Using Custom Cockpit Livery other than Default, the Default will not to Load simultaneously.
HUD glass has become lighter.
Corrected Radar Page TDC Control.
Implemented the Maximum aspect cue.
Corrected AIM-120 HUD symbol.
Added Rmin, Rne, and Rmax indications on radar display.
Missing AIM-120 loading options - fixed.

A-10C Operation Piercing Fury - Mission 08: Removed some trees blocking target view. Mission 14: Removed trees, adjusted AI helicopter landing logic, adjusted enemy vehicle waypoint logic. Mission 15: Removed trees along main road, fixed friendly helicopter landing / timing, and bomb in zone for bridge trigger (GBU-12).
P-51D Charnwood Campaign - added RU localization.
Spitfire Epsom Campaign. Update to all 12 missions that adds drop tanks and bombs to Spitfire flights where appropriate. It also adds a section on dive bombing tactics to the mission 2 and mission 12 briefing.
Viggen Red Flag Campaign. Update to lineup cards for mission 2-10.

I have to say, I'm running out of disk space with both release and open beta installed. It would be nice if the server just picked one version and stuck with it.

Release Version

That was the original plan, but I think that with the release of DCS 2.5 some internal pressure grew to get the latest toys from the open beta developments.

I'll suggest to SeaQuark that we settle down to Release. I prefer it as well since my PC runs much better on it than on open beta (Tacview off)
